Small Gathering Art | Chicago Brand Photography

Small gathering art is truly a special space. KC Dix has a gift for allowing kids to feel freedom to explore, create, and make messes, and brought this vision to life in her lovely Chicago art studio. It was a joy to create brand imagery that represented her business and the space she so lovingly poured herself into creating.

Want brand imagery like this for your business? If you’re interested in hearing about how brand imagery can elevate your business and grow your reach, I’d love to chat! Email me here.

    Seeing Motherhood

I believe one of the most beautiful gifts we can give another person is to see them.

You know what I mean? Let them know they are visible.

It’s far too easy to look past someone, to turn away, or even ignore. Especially when you don’t understand their life or share their point of view. It’s hard to SEE. It takes work sometimes.

I think motherhood is often this way. It is mostly invisible work. Nobody really sees the number of dirty diapers, bandaged knees, kissed foreheads, meals made.

In creating this portrait series, I was processing through many of the times in my life where I have not felt truly visible, and how I wanted to change that narrative for other women, who often feel like they struggle in the shadows.

I wanted to capture their stories in a way that shed some light on the beauty on their everyday work. Of course there is so much more to be said, but my hope was to create a mirror for these women, for them to know they are seen, and for others to have the opportunity to see them as well.

Front Porch Mini sessions in Chicago

I am excited to be offering front porch sessions for a limited time! I know this is such a crazy time in all of our lives, staying home, working from home, parenting from home…we’re just home. I know there are various struggles and triumphs you are facing as well, and honestly, I would love to document that for you.

I am offering complimentary 10 minute front porch sessions with digital files available for purchase afterwards. Professional quality prints are also available for purchase in your client gallery. Because these sessions are so short, I would ideally like to come to your neighborhood to photograph your family with 3-4 others. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, gather a few neighbors and send me an email!

      Can’t wait to see you!
